Applications open for the It’s Nice That x DROOL Artist Open Call
We’ve teamed up with contemporary art prints and poster store DROOL to put out an open call for creatives to submit their artworks, with the chance to be shortlisted for sale on their site.
A place to scout out unique prints and art by emerging creatives and add some colour to your walls, all whilst supporting independent artists, DROOL was founded by graphic designer Alex Liepman in 2020 to address the lack of representation and support for early career creative talent. Collaborating with artists, designers, illustrators and photographers from across the globe, the DROOL store now manages the production and sales of fine art prints for the creatives it backs, with fair artist commissions and sustainability at its heart.
We’ve collaborated with DROOL to launch the Artist Open Call, a new competition wherein creatives can submit their artwork for a chance to be shortlisted to be sold, in print form, on DROOL’s carefully curated online store. This opportunity offers an income stream for independent creators and emerging creatives, where they will earn a commission for every piece sold, providing them with some financial backing to further their crafts. The initiative aims to break down barriers for emerging artists regardless of their background or location, by platforming their work and offering them a new side hustle; all the while Drool handles all of that tricky admin like framing, delivery and customer service, working with print labs dotted across the world.
Alex, founder of DROOL shares: “I’m excited to partner with It’s Nice That as I feel we have a shared passion to champion and financially empower grassroot creatives. I’m looking forward to seeing what talent comes out of this open call and am looking forward to supporting more artists and enabling them to showcase and monetise their work on a global stage.”
Here’s how you can get involved:
- Applications for the Artist Open Call are open from 8 October – 22 October 2024. Artists can submit their work here.
